Getting Started with Blackcart

Blackcart helps merchants acquire more customers by targeting uncertain shoppers with a Try Before You Buy shopping experience. Customers can try your products at home prior to paying for a period of time of your choosing, and then decide which items to keep and pay for. 

Setting up your Try Before You Buy (TBYB) program can be completed in less than 10 minutes by following these simple steps.

Steps for onboarding to Blackcart

1. Install the Blackcart App 
2. Enable Shopify Payments
3. Set TBYB Program Configurations 
4. Set Return Configurations  
5. Make Products Eligible for Try Before You Buy
6. Storefront Setup 
7. Market your TBYB Program 
8. Test & Launch your TBYB Program
   
   

Requirements & Restrictions

To ensure a smooth implementation and optimal performance, it's important to meet certain requirements before installing and using our app. Please review the following requirements to ensure that your online store is compatible. 

1. Shopify Store:

   • To use our app, you must be running your online store on the Shopify platform. If you haven't set up a Shopify store yet, you can sign up on the Shopify website and follow their onboarding process. 
     
     

2. Shopify 2.0 Theme:

   • Our app is designed to work seamlessly with Shopify 2.0 themes. Ensure that your online store is using a Shopify 2.0 theme to take full advantage of the features our app provides. If you are currently using an older theme, consider upgrading to a Shopify 2.0 theme for an enhanced user experience.
     • How to Check Your Theme Version:
       • Log in to your Shopify admin.
       • Navigate to "Online Store" and click on "Themes."
       • Look for information about your theme version. If it's not mentioned, you may need to contact your theme developer for clarification.
     • Upgrading Your Theme:
       • If you are not using a Shopify 2.0 theme, you can explore and install Shopify 2.0-compatible themes from the Shopify Theme Store.
       • Always make a backup of your current theme before making any changes.
         
         

3. Shopify Payments

   • Our app is integrated with Shopify Payments to ensure secure and efficient transactions. Make sure that your online store is configured to use Shopify Payments as the primary payment processor.

     • Setting up Shopify Payments:
       • Log in to your Shopify Admin
       • Go to "Settings" and click on "Payments"
       • If the Shopify Payments is not set up, follow the prompts to complete the setup process
       • Verify that Shopify Payments is set as the primary payment processor. 
         
         

4. English-Only Store:

   • Please note that our app currently supports only an English language user interface (UI). Ensure that your store's primary language is English for the best user experience.
