Manage Product Eligibility for TBYB

This article will include instructions for how to add or remove products and product variants to your Try Before You Buy (TBYB) program

As a merchant, you can decide which products are eligible for TBYB plan. We recommend having as many products eligible for TBYB as possible for two reasons. One, this creates consistency for the customer experience. Two, this will maximize the increase on converting visitors to customers.

Certain products may not be deemed eligible for TBYB, an example could be a product that should not be returned after being tried on. In this case, you can remove the product from being eligible for TBYB.

Add Products As Eligible For TBYB

Add Products in bulk

1. From the Blackcart app dashboard select "Products" from Shopify's lefthand navigation menu
   
   
   
   
2. Select products you wish to add to the TBYB program by checking the box left of the product name. Once all products you wish to add have been checked, select the "More Actions" option from the bulk edit menu at the top of the screen.
   
   
   
   
3. Scroll to the bottom of the menu and underneath "Apps" select "Manage TBYB Eligibility" 
   
   
   
   
4. Open the dropdown menu and select "Add"
   
   
   
   
5. Select "Done" to save and return the the product menu. 
   
   

Add a single Product or Variant as TBYB eligible

1. From the Shopify Products page, click on the product you wish to edit.
2. Once inside of the Product details editor, scroll down to Purchase options and select "Add Purchase Option".
   
   
   
   
3. Select "Existing Option".
4. The TBYB program purchase option menu modal will open, from this menu select the product variants you wish to add to your TBYB plan.
   
   
   
   
5. Select "Add to plan".
6. From the "Purchase options" menu on the product details page you will now be able to see that the TBYB purchase option has been applied to the selected variant(s).
   
   
   
   
7. Under the TBYB purchase option, select the hyperlinked "variant" text to view which products have been added to your TBYB plan.
   
   

Remove Products As Eligible For TBYB

Remove Products in bulk

1. Repeat steps 1-3 from "Adding products as TBYB eligible at the main product level". 
2. Once inside of Blackcart's Manage TBYB Eligibility menu, open the dropdown menu and select "Remove"
   
   
   
   
3. Select "Done" to save and return to the Products page. 

Remove a single Product or Variant as TBYB eligible

1. From the Shopify Products page, click on the product you wish to edit.
2. Once inside of the Product details editor, scroll down to Purchase options and find the product you wish to remove from your TBYB plan. Select "Remove".
   
   
   
   
3. The TBYB program purchase option menu modal will open with the products that are eligible for your plan. From this menu select the product variants you wish to remove from your TBYB plan.
4. Select "Remove from plan".
   
   
   
   
5. You will be redirected back to the product details editor. You will no longer see TBYB as a purchase option for your product variant.
